Over this past Christmas break I was blessed with the opportunity to return to the orphanage to teach English and set up computers. This was done to allow the kids to learn basic computer skills. I stayed for the entire break, which was roughly a month.
As before, I was overwhelmed by the love and care shown for both the kids and I while I was there. From staying up late into the night to remove an IV to making sure I always had food that I liked; Dara’s wife always was looking out for me. Dara watches out for me and continually takes time to explain basic Khmer culture. It is so easy to bond with Dara because of his patient attitude and love for prayer and the Word.
It was great to be able to spend time with the kids again and I was surprised by how much the English skills of the kids have improved. While there I administered a comprehensive English test for placement purposes and they performed very well. Since I was there for my 21st birthday they threw a large party for me complete with cake and presents from the kids.
As I have said before, I believe this is a cause well worth supporting and provides a way to partner in the work that God is doing in Cambodia.
